queensland

Queensland occupies 1.7 million square kilometres of land in the north-eastern corner of Australia. The state is Australia’s second largest by area and the country’s third most populous after New South Wales and Victoria. The people of Queensland enjoy an outdoor lifestyle with world class beaches and waterways, national parks, rainforests and tropical reefs. The pleasant climate (average summer temperatures of 25°C, average winter temperatures of 15°C) means that Queenslanders enjoy more winter sunshine and warmth than most other Australian states. This is where it gets the nickname ‘The Sunshine State’. Queensland also has a large proportion of tropical climate.

80% of South Australia is covered by an area called Flinders Ranges and Outback. It’s a region of great diversity: you’ll find ancient ranges steeped in Aboriginal legend, bird-filled lakes in the middle of the desert, pink parallel dunes and pretty Flinders Ranges towns. The capital of South Australia is Adelaide with a population of 1.2 million inhabitants which is over 70% of South Australia’s total population. Adelaide is the fifth biggest city in Australia. Nestled between some of Australia’s best metropolitan beaches and the Mt Lofty Ranges, it is a clean, attractive city surrounded by green park lands.
