Student success stories

We measure our success one student at a time, based on each student’s progress. Our graduates go on to pursue diverse areas of study at university including mathematics, economics, law, art, medicine, psychology and engineering.

Botian Xu from China - Imperial College of London (Physics)

Botian pursued his A-level studies at EF International Academy Torbay. Interested in pursuing higher studies in Physics, he took A-level exams in 2011. He plans to accept an offer to Imperial College London, his first choice university.

Carlos Granados Martínez from Spain - University of Virginia (Business)

I am very satisfied with how much I have learned during the IB Diploma programme and also extremely pleased with the nomination as Student of the Year. Because of the multicultural environment at EF International Academy, I am more mature and responsible compared to the time that I started. I am thankful to all the faculty and staff that helped me gain acceptance into University of Virginia.

Georgina Feyyi from Nigeria - University of Leicester (Medicine)

The help from my EF teachers has just been amazing they’ve been there every step of the way, right from the beginning from when I came here, applying, registering in UCAS and then to the very last point when you send you application to the university. The support is incredible; I couldn’t have made it so far without their help.

Kristian Tveit Diskerud from Norway - London School of Economics (Law)

The teachers at EF are excellent and qualified. They spend a lot of time helping with classwork and assignments. My tutor worked closely with me composing my university applications
including my personal statement.

Zhamilya Meshitbay from Kazakhstan - University of Cambridge (Economics)

Zhamilya prepared for her A-levels by studying mathematics, economics, sociology and further mathematics and received four A grades on her A-level exams and since 2009 has been studying economics at Cambridge University.

Zhi-Chang Joo Hoo from Chile - University of California, Los Angeles (Business)

These two years at EF have helped me get into UCLA, a top ranked ranked American university. Aside from the academics, EF International Academy is a nice place to study because there are many international students here and you get to know cultures from all over the world. This will help me better understand my subject of study, International Business Management.

Renee Zhang from China - Oxford University

Renee Zhang studied for her A-levels at EF. She is now studying for a BA (Hons) in mathematics and statistics at Oxford. Renee’s spectacular A-level results earned her a place at Oxford after achieving four As, including two for mathematics. She also earned a distinction on the AEA exam, which is a special paper designed for the top 10% of all A-level students.
